Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Your privacy matters on and off the road. This policy explains exactly what data MileDating collects, how we use it, and the steps we take to keep your personal information - especially your location and route data - safe while you search for a meaningful connection.
Information We Collect
When you create a MileDating account or use the trucker dating login, we collect information you provide directly - including your name, email address, age, location, profile photos, and any details you choose to share in your bio. We also collect data automatically as you use the platform, such as your device type, browser version, IP address, and interaction logs (messages sent, profiles viewed, and features used).
We do not collect your real-time GPS coordinates unless you explicitly enable route-aware matching. Even then, route data is used solely to suggest compatible matches along your corridors - never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never visible to other members without your opt-in consent.
Types of Data Collected
- Account data: name, email, password hash, age, gender, and preferences you set during registration.
- Profile content: photos, bio text, interests (camping, fishing, road trips, etc.), and relationship goals.
- Usage data: login frequency, messages exchanged, features accessed, and approximate region derived from IP (not precise GPS).
- Route data (opt-in only): general interstate corridors and home-time locations you voluntarily enter for Route-Match.
How We Use Cookies
MileDating uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how members interact with the platform so we can improve it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or sell your browsing behavior to third parties.
Types of Cookies We Use
- Functional cookies: keep you logged in between sessions and store theme preferences (light or dark mode).
- Analytics cookies: aggregate, anonymized data about page views and feature usage so we can identify bugs and improve the experience.
- Security cookies: help detect fraudulent logins and protect your trucker dating account from unauthorized access.
You can manage or disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling functional cookies will require you to log in each time you visit. For more details, please review our Cookie Policy.
Protecting Your Location and Route Data
Truck drivers face unique privacy risks - sharing your routes and home-time schedule with the wrong platform can expose you to stalking, theft, or romance scams. MileDating treats location data as the most sensitive category of information we handle.
Here is exactly how we protect it:
- No real-time tracking. We never continuously track your GPS position. Route-Match uses only the corridors and home-time windows you manually enter.
- Corridor-level granularity. Instead of pinpointing your exact location, we match on interstate-level corridors (e.g., "I-80 through Nebraska") so your precise whereabouts stay private.
- Encryption at rest and in transit. All location and route data is encrypted using industry-standard TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest.
- No sharing with third parties. We do not sell, rent, or share route data with advertisers, data brokers, or insurance companies - ever.
- Auto-purge of inactive data. If you delete your account, all location and route information is permanently removed within 30 days.

Depending on your state of residence, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or other state privacy regulations. MileDating honors these rights for all members, regardless of location.
Rights You Can Exercise
- Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, including profile content and usage logs.
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information in your profile or account settings at any time.
- Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data, including photos, messages, and route information.
- Opt-out: Disable route-aware matching or analytics cookies without losing access to core platform features.
